Contesting Conditions of Confinement
The purpose of this SEPARATE page is to inform the public of the living conditions civil detainees and civilly committed folks are forced to live under as outlined in these cases. By posting these cases it is NOT our intent to say there is no hope in filing these cases, but the public needs to know the horrible circumstances these folks face in their day to day lives.
These past cases show how these CC folks are stymied at seemly every turn, but they continue to fight their way through the courts. Hopefully wherever possible these cases will show committed folks what works, and what doesn't work, in the courts. The final question is, can they access this blog? We have seen a few have found ways to do just that and we hope more can do so.
